What was she expecting going to a hotel room with a man she didn’t know.... Roxane – is set in the bedroom of a fictional city hotel, a rendezvous point for two online strangers. She’s there first. The Babysitter is booked. Sitting on the bed, chilly in her lingerie but he’s late. Will he be as hot as his online profile or is he even going to show up? Should she just go? Should she turn the TV back on? Then she hears the door card being fumbled with outside. Excited, she lies back on the bed, eyes shut, feigning sleep. The door clicks open. He walks towards her. He bends down to kiss her. She opens her eyes... This is not what she was expecting, at all.

The way this play came about, the little seeds of inspiration and indignation. The real story that sparked the curiosity...What can happen in a room to make someone feel pushed or entitled to kill someone else.

Than the question of gender. Why does it play a role. What are we missing and what have we been missing as a society for so long.

Obviously just a lot of questions and not many answers.

The feedbacks, at least one or two women coming up to me after every show to thank me, to tell me something very similar happened to them. And I thank them for telling me. I tell them I am one of them.

I have been to a hotel room with someone I barely knew. Things did not go the way I expected. I managed to leave unharmed.

What if?
